Chase’s father is a drug investigation officer. When he stumbles upon of a criminal plot within the police force, he tries to expose the crooks. As a result he is framed for illegal drug possession and sentenced to prison, leaving his son fatherless. Just when it seems Chase has adapted to his new situation, he and his friends Mac and Jeremy run into a even more sinister scene involving the murder of drug investigation officer Felix Reiser. Chase finds Felix’s cell phone and discovers a secret message that could incriminate the conspirators and foil their plans. In fact, the message is so detrimental that the criminals are willing to go to any lengths to stop anyone from hearing it.
So begins a desperate mission to gain possession of the cell phone and on the boys part to crack the message code. Time is of the essence as attempts to get the phone back get more determined and even deadly.
Message in a Cell Phone incorporates and combines balanced amounts of mystery, comedy, and suspense. It ends with an unexpected twist that was well masked and carried out through the movie as a whole.
