The Canadian lynx are dying out, so researcher Jim Harwood and his rebellious daughter, Emmy, set out with two other experts to discover the cause. When the team arrives, things in town start escalating. People go missing, including the sheriff and his deputy, and before long the research cabin is attacked. Jim and the others are faced with the fact that the creature behind this isn’t just a bear but something much more sinister……..
The tension increases as they try to escape with their lives.

How does Snow Beast 2011 compare with the 1977 film?
The 1977 movie was filmed with one audience in mind: horror. While the story line is similar to the 2011 film, we see a difference. Snow Beast 2011 contains the story of the Harwood family, who grow stronger in spite of their near death experience. Despite being classed as a horror movie, we recommend Snow Beast 2011 for its family values and for not being afraid to tell about a mother’s abandonment of her family in a feminist culture.
Cautions: This movie contains some scenes which feature blood but are not overly violent or graphic. It may not be suitable for a younger audience or sensitive children.Also note the movie begins with a rock music montage
