Father Knows Best (1954-1960)

Meet the Andersons, one of America’s most beloved families of all time. The dad, Jim Anderson, takes a role in his family that is rarely seen today: leader. His wife, Margret, is a diligent housekeeper and mother and doesn’t subscribe to the feminist ideas of ruling her family or working outside of the home.

All three of their children, Bud, Betty and Kathy manage to get themselves and their parents into the funniest misadventures and come up with creative solutions to solve them.

This is a family that shines as an example of how families used to live, very much unlike the modern dysfunctional family unit, they work together, not apart. Isn’t that what we are always told in the movies? that families should work together at what ever they do? It seems that few families really care to live that message. The Andersons aren’t one of them. We recommend Father Knows Best as a way to see how families should really live.

Cautions: Father Knows Best contains some misuse of God’s name and kissing.
