Is VR Troopers like Power Rangers?

If you like Power Rangers You’re certain to enjoy VR Troopers. Both programs aired during 1995-1996 and were both created by Haim Saban. VR Troopers follows a similar style as Power Rangers, both contain the martial arts that audiences love. About the only downside to VR Troopers is that they aren’t equipped with Zords from the beginning of the series, although they have vehicles that amount to about the same thing. Naturally, VR Troopers focuses on technology and virtual reality, but both programs utilize the classic Japanese footage that makes Power Rangers so good.

Summary

VR Troopers follows the adventures of three friends: Ryan Steel, Kaitlin Star and J.B. Reese as they battle the evil forces of Grimlord with the powers of virtual reality. The three teenagers meet the mysterious Professor Hart who tells them of the impending doom of the earth. Grimlord, the alter ego of evil billionaire Karl Ziktor, seeks to control the world through the power of virtual reality. It is up to the three teens to stop him. Prof. Hart offers Ryan, Kaitlin, and J.B. the virtual reality powers they need to stop Grimlord. Ryan is especially interested in what Prof. Hart has to say when he learns about the possibility of reuniting with his long-lost father.

What We Liked

VR Troopers was exiting! It has all the highlights of Power Ranger with the additional perk of a continuing plot. Contrast VR Troopers with most of the “childrens” entertainment offered on streaming services today and see for yourself why Famiy Light chooses to promote older programs. Our favorite character from the series was Ryan’s dog Jeb, shown right.
